February 14 (BTA) - Brazil would like to revive its ties
with Europe, including Bulgaria, Brazil's Minister of Foreign
Affairs Ernesto Araujo told his Bulgarian counterpart Ekaterina
Zaharieva on Thursday. The two conferred within the Middle East
Peace and Security Conference in Warsaw, Zaharieva's Ministry
reported.

The thousands of Bulgarians in Brazil, concentrated mainly in
Sao Paolo, can serve as a bridge between the two countries,
Zaharieva said, adding that Bulgaria is an example of a place
where there is ethnic and religious coexistence, which is also
the message of the Warsaw Conference.

Araujo and Zaharieva exchanged ideas from the two countries'
experience in sustainable agriculture, tourism development and
environmental protection. They also discussed a number of
questions on the international agenda, including the crisis in
Venezuela.

The Bulgarian top diplomat presented Bulgaria's bid to join the
Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. The two
foreign ministers agreed to exchange experience in the
pre-accession process.

Zaharieva extended an invitation to Araujo to visit Bulgaria,
which the latter accepted. The two agreed to work on signing an
agreement on the transfer of convicted persons and agreements on
allowing the family members of diplomats to work in the host
country. RY/MY
