Bulgarian Patriarch Daniil Monday celebrated a Trisagion (a small service offered for the departed) for the victims of Sunday's fire in North Macedonia. Ambassador Agnesa Rusi of the Republic of North Macedonia attended the service at the St. Nedelya metropolitan church.

A service of healing was held for those injured.

"Your Excellency, brothers and sisters, we grieve together with the people of North Macedonia in these days of mourning for those who perished in Kochani. We pray for the repose of their souls and offer our sincere and deepest condolences for the tragedy that has befallen you. We also pray for God's succour and support for all who survived this disaster but are weak and suffering from burns," Patriarch Daniil said.

"May God strengthen those injured, we pray for their healing, and may God give strength and healing to all affected and their loved ones," the Patriarch said.

On Sunday, Patriarch Daniil talked on the telephone with the Head of the Macedonian Orthodox Church, Archbishop Stefan, the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church said. Orthodox Christians in Bulgaria pray for peace for the souls of the dead, comfort for the bereaved and quick recovery of the injured, said Patriarch Daniil.
