Trade relations between Bulgaria and Turkiye and the efficiency of customs procedures were discussed at a meeting in Ankara by the Director General of the Customs Agency Georgi Dimov and the Turkish Deputy Minister of Trade Sezai Ucarmak on Thursday, the Turkish Trade Ministry reported on Friday on the X social media platform.

Dimov and Ucarmak discussed customs-related issues between Turkiye and Bulgaria.

"In the framework of the meeting, the situation regarding the customs points between Turkiye and Bulgaria was assessed and consultations were held on the planned activities for their modernization in the coming period in view of their importance for our countries as well as for regional and global trade," the Turkish Ministry said in a statement.

The importance of cooperation between customs administrations was also stressed to make more efficient use of the railway line between the two countries and to facilitate passage through customs, the Turkish Ministry added.
