site.btaBulgaria Returns to Danish Travel Fair

Bulgaria’s Tourism Ministry is participating for the first time in the Danish Travel Show (Ferie for alle), Scandinavia’s biggest travel fair, held in Herring, Denmark. Bulgaria's last participation was in 2013, before the Ministry was establish.
Bulgaria's stand at Ferie for alle in 2025, organized by the Ministry of Tourism, is a result of the shared increased interest from the Bulgarian tourism industry and motivated by evidence of the strong potential to attract Danish tourists. Statistics show that for the period January-September 2024, Bulgaria recorded a significant increase in Danish tourists by 13.6% compared to the same period in 2023, with the number of Danish tourists at 27,837.
"We are positioning and establishing Bulgaria as a safe year-round tourist destination and in markets where we aim to attract high paying tourists," said Minister Miroslav Borshosh.
Bulgaria is a well-known destination for sea holidays for tourists from Denmark, but it has tourist potential and the opportunity to combine with cultural and historical, mountain, adventure, eco and rural tourism, spa programs, wine and culinary tourism, golf tourism and others.
The return to this fair is all the more special due to the fact that Bulgaria is the only country with additional advertising in the form of two large banners strategically positioned at the main entrance of the exhibition and at the entrance of the International Tourism Hall, where Bulgaria is represented with a modern information booth located on an area of 40 square meters.
The forum was officially opened by Georg Sorensen, CEO of MCH Herning Kongrescenter - the organizer of the entire exhibition in the presence of Dragomir Zakov, Bulgarian Ambassador Denmark. Ambassador Zakov paid special attention to all exhibitors from Bulgaria and expressed his admiration for the national corner, which in his words was "the most beautiful stand at the fair".
At the Bulgarian stand five Bulgarian co-exhibitors are presenting their high-quality products and services: DM Travel Ltd, Varna Municipality, Sofia Municipality, Enjoy Prime Tours Ltd, Spa & Sport Complex Therma Village, Kranevo (Stroytrans 2011 Ltd).
Over the years, the Ministry of Tourism has carried out a number of activities to target the promotion of Bulgaria as a tourist destination in the Nordic markets - Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland.
According to statistics provided by the organizers, this year Ferie for alle is enjoying even more exhibitor interest and visibility and media coverage, with the first day focusing on B2B meetings and communication, and the remaining two days open to the general public. The event covers a total area of 64,000 sqm in 13 halls with 5 main themes: international tourism, camping, Denmark (domestic tourism), outdoor tourism and golf tourism.
Out of a total of 13,249,456 visits by foreigners to Bulgaria in 2024, 47,792 were those of Danish citizens, according to the National Statistical Institute.
