site.btaCulinary Event Brings 126 Masters of Christmas, New Year's Eve Dishes to Dimitrovgrad
A culinary event gathered 126 masters of Christmas and New Year's Eve dishes here on Sunday. This was the 12th edition of the Christmas Table event, held on Bulgaria Square in central Dimitrovgrad. Cooks and producers from all settlements in the municipality showed a total of 221 authentic dishes and drinks, with a jury to determine the winners in the 11 categories of the competition.
In improvised corners of a Bulgarian village one could see how the ancestors used to knead bread, how to prepare bulgur for cooking, how to spin wool, how to knit socks and other activities typical of Bulgarian households in the winter months.
Among the participants in the event was chef Ivan Zvezdev, who in a large cauldron mixed 1,000 portions of beans with pumpkin and corn, and revealed the recipe for the brew to everyone present.
