One woman has died and at least two people have been injured after a missile and drone attack in Odesa, the chairman of the Odesa regional military administration, Oleg Kipper, said on Telegram on Friday.
More than 10 drones and 2 missiles attacked Odesa between 9:18 p.m. and 10:40 p.m., local channels informed on Telegram.
Damage was caused to residential buildings in the central part of the city, a church, cars, the message of the regional governor said. One of the city's main heat pipes was damaged, resulting in the forced shutdown of one of the boiler plants.
Fires broke out in places where targets were hit. All emergency services are working to deal with the aftermath of the attack.
Bulgarians in the Odesa region number more than 150,000 and were the third largest population group in Ukraine in 2001, according to the official census. About 50,000 - 60,000 Bulgarians live in the city of Odesa itself. The largest compact Bulgarian population is concentrated in the Bolhrad, Izmail and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi districts.
