Blue Bulgaria Coalition's top-of-the-list candidate in Haskovo Tsveta Kirilova said here on Wednesday that it is time for crime in Bulgaria to be curbed. "Otherwise, we, the wakeful and conscientious, the honest and hardworking, are about to be totally controlled and subordinated to the mafia and crime. And then there is no way out of hell," she pointed out.

"Poverty in Bulgaria is the result of the greed of those raised in the 80-year-old hatchery of self-centered, ignorant, selfish, insolent, unscrupulous and unrestrained communist heirs and members of the former repressive apparatus, whose children and grandchildren have seized the economic and power instruments in Bulgaria and believe that those belong to them by right, by inheritance," Kirilova argued. In her words, it is time for the civil sector, the conscious right-wing voters, to take the reins in their hands and eliminate this vicious circle. 

"Corruption deprives normal people of the means with which they can live their old age with dignity, treat their children and relatives, support their families. Corruption is eroding the foundations of Bulgaria. Above all, it is a threat to the Bulgarian people. Corruption deprives the people of the resources they need," Kirilova said. According to her, corruption undermines the activity of the institutions, turns them into packages without public service and state status, and undermines the public's trust in them. People begin not to take the existence of institutions seriously at all, they stop believing in them, and that is a disaster, Kirillova noted.
