Sofia's poor weather on Saturday night did not stop some 60,000 people going to Vasil Levski National Stadium for Ed Sheeran's Mathematics Tour. For two and a half hours, the country's largest sports facility looked like a multi-coloured Disneyland ride scored with the British star's greatest hits.
Sheeran's opening acts were finalist of the 2011 X Factor Bulgaria, Mihaela Fileva, and English pop singer Calum Scott. Scott appeared on stage later again to sing "You Are the Reason" together with Sheeran.
Fans of Sheeran enjoyed nearly 30 songs that included "Castle on the Hill", "Shivers", "The A Team", "Dive", "Eyes Closed", "Boat", "Give Me Love", "Photograph", "Perfect", "Don’t" and "I See Fire". The night was closed with "The Shape of You".
Sheeran is the latest in a series of music legends to have performed at Vasil Levski Stadium. Some of the others include Madonna, AC/DC, Metallica, Lepa Brena, Slavi Trifonov and Ku-Ku Band, Bon Jovi, Imagine Dragons and Roger Waters. Another one, Andrea Bocelli, is scheduled to sing there on September 14.
