The Embassy of Bulgaria in Moldova has provided EUR 25,000 for the establishment of a public service centre in the Bulgarian-populated town of Tvarditsa, Taraclia Region. The centre was unveiled Tuesday by Bulgarian Ambassador to Moldova Maya Dobreva, Moldovan Energy Minister Victor Parlicov and Tvarditsa Mayor Georgi Popov.

The newly opened service centre is located in the town hall of Tvarditsa and is equipped with new furniture and equipment. It will allow the residents of the town to receive up to 50 types of government services without having to travel to the regional centre in Taraclia, which is about 50 km away. Among the services that will be provided are criminal record issuing, apostille securing, and cadastre application submission.

After the opening ceremony, the guests laid flowers at the monument of Bulgarian revolutionary Vasil Levski and visited a local museum.

Nearly 6,000 people live in Tvarditsa, 91.7% of whom are ethnic Bulgarians.
