National Assembly Chair Raya Nazaryan met with Bulgarian Patriarch and Metropolitan of Sofia Daniil. The meeting was also attended by MPs from all parliamentary groups, metropolitans from Bulgaria, the USA, Canada and Australia, Parliament’s website said on Tuesday.

Nazaryan noted that Parliament and the Bulgarian Orthodox Church have a common patriotic mission to serve the Bulgarian people and their well-being, and expressed confidence that the Church and the state institutions will work together in this direction.  

Patriarch Daniil blessed the MPs and expressed hope that the interaction between the two institutions will continue. The unity between the secular and the spiritual authorities gives faith and trust that with common efforts, common good can be achieved, he added.
