site.bta21 Dead after Russian Missile Attack in Odesa on Friday
The death toll of a Russian ballistic missile attack in Odesa which took place on Friday went up to 21 people, Odesa Regional Governor Oleh Kiper said on Telegram.
March 16th has been declared a day of mourning in the city.
More than 40 people injured in the explosions are still being treated in hospitals. Of them, 9 people are in serious condition, informed Kiper.
This is the most massive Russian terrorist act in Odesa in terms of the number of victims, stressed the Regional Governor on Telegram.
One of the victims in the attack was the former first deputy mayor of the city, Sergiy Tetyukhin, who took part in the opening of the National Press Club of BTA on June 24, 2023.
The Bulgarians in Odesa region number over 150,000 people and are the third largest minority according to the official census in Ukraine in 2001. About 50-60,000 Bulgarians live in the city itself. The largest Bulgarian population is concentrated in Bolgrad, Izmail and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi regions.
