site.btaVP Iotova Attends Exhibition Opening at National History Museum

Vice President Iliana Iotova attended the opening of an exhibition titled "Ancient finds. New Discoveries. Archaeological Season 2023" at the National History Museum in Sofia, the President's Press Secretariat said on Tuesday. Bulgarian archaeology needs much more attention and state support, she stressed.

Addressing the archaeologists, Iotova said: "With every find of yours that reveals layer after layer of the history of our lands, you tell us: Be proud of being Bulgarians. This self-confidence is extremely important in difficult times. The future lies in true patriotism, and it comes after the knowledge you give us".

Iotova identified archaeologists as the modern awakeners. "You are among the important people today amid many who want to ascribe great importance to themselves. You are also the Bulgarian unifiers - we are united by your activity, which creates Bulgaria’s image that makes us proud all over the world," she added.
