Grigor Dimitrov ended his run in this year's Australian Open, after he lost in four sets, 7-6(3) 4-6 2-6 6-7(6), to world No. 69 Nuno Borges from Portugal on Saturday. Borges's victory makes him only the second Portuguese tennis player to reach the fourth round at a major.
Borges and 13th seed Dimitrov played for 3 hours and 8 minutes, during which the best male Bulgarian tennis player showed something of his class only in the first set, which he won in a tiebreak.
In the fourth round, the Portuguese will face Daniil Medvedev from Russia, who powered past Felix Auger-Aliassime from Canada in straight sets.
