I believe these talks are useful because they could teach us wisdom for after the elections, said GERB leader Boyko Borissov on Thursday in relation to the talks led by There Is Such a People (TISP) for support for a government with a third mandate. I think reason will prevail in all political parties, Borissov said.

Borissov confirmed that GERB-UDFwill participate on Saturday in the talks. Asked whether he would go in person, the GERB leader said, "If [TISP party leader] Slavi Trifonov participates, I will participate as well. If not - there is a negotiating team."

Of MRF leader Delyan Peevski’s statement that there is a plot to oust National Assembly Speaker Raya Nazaryan, Borissov said he could not ban MPs from making statements. GERB does not need protection from anyone, however, he stressed. He insisted that a principle that the speaker of parliament should be from the largest parliamentary force should be respected. “It does not even cross my mind that they could do such a thing because it would mean a new majority,” Borissov further said. He warned that this would also mean "a very angry GERB". “I do not advise them to do so,” he added. “Once we got over our arrests, once we got over Rosen Zhelyazkov, - I think the party will not get over if Raya Nazaryan is ousted and they will liquidate any possibilities for any talks in the future,” Borissov said.

“For the last four years we have been governed by caretaker governments, if we wait for a regular one, we will probably not have a commissioner,” Borissov said in response to a question whether a caretaker or a regular government should nominate the next Bulgarian commissioner.
