Bulgaria's Gabriela Stoeva and Stefani Stoeva were eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Olympic badminton tournament in Paris on Thursday.

The three-time European champions lost 15:21, 8:21 to the world rankings leaders and current world champions, China’s Chen Qingchen and Jia Yifan. The match lasted 42 minutes.

The Stoeva sisters still recorded their best performance at an Olympics after finishing ninth at the Rio 2016 Games in Tokyo 2020. This year, they placed fifth in Paris.
