An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.8 on the Richter scale was registered on Tuesday  morning in the sea off the Peloponnese peninsula, southern Greece, reported ANA-MPA.

The earthquake occurred at 7:20 am. Its epicenter was in the sea 16 km northeast of the village of Leonidio on the east coast of the peninsula and 101 km southwest of the capital Athens, data from the Greek Earthquake Research-Institute of Geodynamics show.

The earthquake was felt in Athens, as well as in the regions of Argolis, Corinth and the islands of the Argo-Saronic Gulf, Sky TV reported.

No injuries or damage were reported.
