site.btaMPs Establish Ad-Hoc Committee to Investigate Mayor of Dospat

On Thursday, the members of Parliament established an ad-hoc committee to investigate the facts and circumstances of corrupt practices and systematic abuse of office, carried out to the detriment of citizens and businesses, as well as benefiting companies related to the Mayor of the southern town of Dospat, Elin Radev. The committee was established with 116 votes in favour, 63 against and two abstentions.

The committee is composed of 12 MPs, and its task is to establish all facts and circumstances regarding the existence of preconditions for corrupt practices and systematic abuse of office, carried out to the detriment of citizens and businesses, by the Mayor of Dospat Municipality, Elin Radev, as well as all facts and circumstances regarding the existence of preconditions for corrupt practices and favouritism of related companies with him. The committee shall prepare a report on the results of its work and the facts and circumstances established.
