Bulgarian Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov is leaving for Slovenia on Monday to attend a ministerial conference organized by the Slovenian Chairmanship of the Salzburg Forum, Stoyanov's Ministry said in a press release on Sunday.

The participants in the meeting in Brdo pri Kranju will discuss current issues on the agenda of the EU Justice and Home Affairs Council: the functioning of the Schengen area and combating human trafficking, the press release specified.

Within the framework of the conference, Stoyanov is expected to hold bilateral meetings with Interior Ministers Gerhard Karner of Austria and Catalin Marian Preoiu of Romania in search of political consent on the Schengen entry of Bulgaria and Romania.

The Salzburg Forum is an informal Central European security partnership initiated by the Austrian Federal Interior Ministry in 2001. Currently it consists of nine member states: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia.
