The forum "Cooperation for Regional Development and Growth", held in the framework of Bulgaria's candidacy for membership in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), starts Thursday at the Imperial Hotel in Plovdiv. The discussion, which will last two days, is organized by the Diplomatic Institute at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The first day of the forum will look at Bulgaria's goals and progress toward OECD membership, and the discussion will be moderated by Tanya Mihaylova, Director of the Diplomatic Institute at the Foreign Ministry. The second talk, “Investment Climate and Regional Development", will be moderated by Yasen Georgiev, Executive Director of the Economic Policy Institute.
The forum will be attended by Isabelle Chatry, Head Decentralisation, Subnational Finance and Infrastructure Unit, CFE, Belgian Ambassador Frederic Meurice, representatives of the Ministries of Regional Development and Public Works, Foreign Affairs and Innovation and Growth. The discussion will also include experts from the InvestBulgaria Agency, the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Plovdiv, and the Economic Association - Plovdiv.
