Traffic is heavy at some of the border crossings with Romania, Greece and Serbia, the General Directorate of Border Police said on its website. The data is as of 6:00 Saturday morning.

On the border with Romania, traffic is intense at the checkpoints Vidin, Kardam, Durankulak, Oryahovo, Nikopol and Ruse at the exit for trucks. Due to major repairs on the Bulgarian section of the Danube Bridge at Ruse, traffic is temporarily reorganized in one lane, regulated by traffic lights. In addition to Ruse, drivers in the region can also head to the checkpoints Silistra, Kardam, Durankulak, Kainardzha and Krushari. The last two are open from 8 am to 8 pm daily, and no trucks are allowed.

On the border with Greece, traffic is heavy in both directions at Kulata. In view of the significantly increased number of Romanian tourists travelling to and from Greece passing through the Kulata and Makaza, travellers are advised to use alternative crossing points at the Bulgarian-Greek border, which are less congested and allow faster crossing. Only cars and vans are allowed to pass through the border crossing points Makaza, Zlatograd and Ivaylovgrad.

Traffic is heavy at the exit for cars at the Kalotina checkpoint on the border with Serbia.

Traffic is normal at all border crossing points on the border with North Macedonia. On August 26, the implementation of the activities under the contract related to the construction of the EU Entry/Exit System started at the Gyueshevo checkpoint. The border control booths of the passing trucks will be dismantled and replaced with new ones. Temporarily, the traffic of passing trucks will be rerouted through the car crossing routes. There may be some difficulties in crossing at the Gyueshevo checkpoint.

Traffic is normal at all border crossing points at the border with Turkiye.
