site.bta6,433 PCR Tests Confirm 297 New COVID-19 Cases, Bringing Bulgaria's Total to 13,014

August 7 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 13,014 on Friday after 297 new infections were confirmed over the last 24 hours out of 6,433 PCR tests, according to data posted on www.coronavirus.bg.

Sofia City tops the list of new cases with 80 patients, followed by Plovdiv with 35 and Dobrich with 28.

A total of 294,087 PCR tests have been performed since the first cases were diagnosed on March 8.

The active cases are 5,205. The newly infected persons include 12 medical staff (3 doctors, 4 nurses, 2 orderlies, 1 feldsher and 2 other), and this category now totals 729 (255 doctors and 244 nurses).

The hospitalized patients number 874, including 47 in intensive care.

Another 220 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 7,374.

Eleven more fatalities were reported, bringing the total death toll to 435. RI/LG
