Bulgarian Defence Minister Todor Tagarev Friday conferred with Albanian Ambassador to Bulgaria Donika Hoxha, Tagarev’s Ministry said. The sides discussed regional connectivity projects, the completion of Corridor VIII, increasing defence budgets, challenges related to the war in Ukraine and the situation in the Middle East, among others.

Tagarev and Hoxha also discussed ways to further deepen cooperation in areas of mutual interest, highlighting the traditionally good bilateral cooperation in defense.

At the meeting, Tagarev expressed his appreciation for Albania’s contribution to the NATO multinational battle group that Bulgaria hosts. He added that the conditions, part of the commitments Bulgaria has made as a host country of the battle group, are to be improved.
