site.btaDefence Minister Zapryanov: Over BGN 400 Mln Received for Military Aid to Ukraine


Between January 1, 2022, and February 11, 2025, the Ministry of Defence received BGN 406.07 million in compensation for military aid supplied to Ukraine, Defence Minister Atanas Zapryanov said in response to a question from Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) MP Ivaylo Mirchev. The information was published on the National Assembly’s website on Wednesday.
The funds were transferred through agreements between the Bulgarian and Danish defence ministries, with BGN 57.5 million received on June 7, 2024, BGN 266 million on January 21, 2025, and BGN 82.57 million on January 29, 2025.
By the end of January, BGN 348 million had already been added to the Ministry of Defence’s budget, improving the financial position of both the ministry and the State, Finance Minister Temenuzhka Petkova said in early February.
