July 14 (BTA) - The National Statistical Institute
reported here on Wednesday that inflation in June 2021 was 2.7
per cent compared to June of last year.  

The consumer price index (CPI) in June 2021 compared to May 2021
 was 99.8 per cent, i.e. there was a monthly deflation of 0.2
per cent.

The inflation rate since the beginning of the year (June 2021
compared to December 2020) was 1.5 per cent.

The annual average inflation, measured by CPI, in the last 12
months (July 2020 - June 2021) compared to the previous 12
months (July 2019 - June 2020) was 1.0 per cent.

In June 2021, compared to the previous month, the prices of
goods and services in the main consumer groups have changed as
follows: food and non-alcoholic beverages have decreased by 1.0
per cent; alcoholic beverages and tobacco have increased by 0.1
per cent; clothing and footwear - a decrease of 0.2 per cent;
housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels - an increase
of 0.3 per cent; furnishings, household equipment and routine
home maintenance - an increase of 0.7 per cent; health - the
prices remained the same as during the previous month; transport
 - an increase of 0.5 per cent; communications - a decrease of
1.1 per cent; recreation and culture - an increase of 0.1 per
cent; education - an increase of 0.5 per cent; restaurants and
hotels - an increase of 0.6 per cent. RY/MY
