Bulgaria Air Selected to Fly to China and Belarus

Sofia, September 17 (BTA) - The government on Wednesday selected
flagcarrier Bulgaria Air to operate scheduled air services
between Bulgaria and China and between Bulgaria and Belarus, the
Government Information Service reported.

The airline has six months to start the services. It will fly
Sofia-Almaty-Beijing-Sofia, Varna-Minsk-Varna and
Bourgas-Minsk-Bourgas, having won a competitive bidding. The
services have been agreed between the respective national
governments.

The selection of a Bulgarian airline to fly between Bulgaria and
China and between Bulgaria and Belarus will increase passenger
traffic to and from this country, the press release said. This
will help boost trade and economic relations, generate more
tourism revenues, increase revenues from the transportation of
passengers and cargo and reduce air ticket prices amid market
competition.
