site.btaHousehold Deposits Increase by 12.2%, Loans by 20.4% at End-November, Y/Y

At the end of November 2024, deposits of households and non-profit institutions serving households (NPISHs) were BGN 87.105 billion (43.7% of GDP) which is an increase of 12.2% compared to the same month of 2023, the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) said on its website here on Monday.

Deposits of Non-financial corporations were BGN 44.644 billion (22.4% of GDP) at the end of November 2024. Compared to the same month of 2023 they increased by 6.9%. Deposits of Financial corporations increased by 13.2% annually in November 2024 and at the end of the month they were BGN 3.838 billion (1.9% of GDP).

Deposits of the non-government sector were BGN 135.587 billion (68% of GDP), increasing by 10.4% year-on-year.

At the end of November 2024, claims on loans to the non-government sector amounted to BGN 102,088 billion (51.2% of GDP), increasing by 14.4% year-on-year.

Loans to Non-financial corporations increased by 10% year-on-year and at the end of the month amounted to BGN 48.136 billion (24.1% of GDP).

Loans to Households and NPISHs were BGN 45.815 billion (23% of GDP) at the end of November 2024. They increased by 20.4% compared to the same month of 2023. At the end of November 2024 loans for house purchases were BGN 24.629 billion and increased by 26.3% annually. Consumer loans amounted to BGN 19.329 billion and compared to November 2023 they rose by 14.8%. On an annual basis, other loans increased by 21.5% and reached BGN 484.8 million. In November 2024, loans to Sole proprietorships and partnerships without legal status increased annually by 16.2% reaching BGN 538.6 million.

Loans granted to financial corporations were BGN 8.137 billion at the end of November 2024 (4.1% of GDP). Compared to November 2023, they increased by 9.7%.
