Foreign Ministry Issues Travel Warning for Tunisia
Sofia, October 24 (BTA) - The Bulgarian Foreign Ministry on
Friday warned Bulgarians travelling to Tunisia or staying in the
country in the coming days that they should avoid vulnerable
destinations and large assemblies of people, particularly
demonstrations or other mass events.
The Ministry said tensions have been mounting in Tunisia in
recent weeks and there is a potential danger of terrorist
attacks against nationals of NATO and EU countries. The risk is
particularly high for travellers in the northwestern and
northeastern parts of the country bordering Algeria and Libya,
respectively.
Bulgarian travellers are advised to scan the local media for
updates on the situation in the capital Tunis and the rest of
the country.
