Parliament Elects New Director of National Health Insurance Fund

Sofia, March 12 (BTA) - Parliament elected Thursday a new
director of the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF). Dr Glinka
 Komitov won the votes of 117 MPs in the 240-seat legislature.
22 voted against and seven abstained.

The nomination was supported by GERB, the Reformist Bloc, the
Patriotic Front, ABV and Bulgarian Democratic Centre. Ataka and
the Socialists were against and the Movement for Rights and
Freedoms abstained.

A hearing of Dr Komitov that was held in the plenary chamber
prior to the vote was attended by Health Minister Peter Moskov.
Moskov was a firm supporter of Dr Komitov's nomination.

He was the only candidate for the job.
