Expected Wheat Yield between  Mln 4.3 and 4.5 Tonnes -  Agriculture Minister Taneva

Sofia, June 5 (BTA) - A good grain harvest is expected with a
wheat yield between 4.3 and 4.5 million tonnes, said Agriculture
and Food Minister Dessislava Taneva during the start of the rye
harvest near the northeastern town of Kubrat, the Agriculture
Ministry said in a press release on Friday.

The average wheat yield is expected to be around 4,150 kg/ha and
according to the regional agriculture directorates, the crop is
developing very well.

Taneva said that a total of 113,500 applications for direct
payments for some 3.55 million ha have been submitted as of June
4 under the 2015 campaign. She noted that over 2,400 projects
have been submitted so far under Measure 4.1 "Investments in
Agricultural Holdings", with the total subsidy requested
exceeding 700 million leva.
