Sofia Appellate Court Judge Recuses Himself from Corpbank Case
Sofia, June 11 (BTA) - Ivailo Mladenov, one of the judges in the
insolvency case of Corporate Commercial Bank (Corpbank), has
recused himself on the grounds that he is related to one of the
participants in the trial.
Svetla Chorbadjieva has been appointed in Mladenov's place.
A hearing has been scheduled for June 19 because numerous
appeals have been filed against the Sofia City Court ruling
setting the initial date of Corpbank's insolvency at November 6,
2014, the date on which the Governing Council of the Bulgarian
National Bank (BNB) withdrew Corpbank's licence.
In late April, the BNB and the Sofia City Prosecution Office
appealed the judgement of the first-instance court, arguing that
the initial date of insolvency should be set at September 30,
2014, when Corpbank reported negative own funds and negative
capital adequacy in its financial statements and supervisory
reports.
