Truck Carrying 42.4 kg of Heroin Crossed from Batumi to Bourgas

Bourgas, on the Black Sea, October 5 (BTA) - Customs officers seized 42.412 kilos of heroin worth over 4.3 million leva from a Volvo truck with a German transit number plate, the Customs office of Bourgas said on Monday. The truck arrived without a load on the ferry from Batumi, Georgia.

Customs officers specializing in the fight against drug trafficking chose the vehicle for a thorough check and the sniffer dog Chara detected the drug. The officers took off all tyres and found that all wheel rims were full of heroin.

The Turkish driver was arrested and is being investigate under the supervision of the prosecuting magistrates of Bourgas.
