Deputy Justice Minister Yankoulov Resigns


Sofia, February 22 (BTA) - Prime Minister Boyko Borissov has relieved Deputy Justice Minister Andrei Yankoulov of his post after the latter resigned, the Government's information service said on Monday. Yankoulov's tasks will be taken over by Deputy Justice Minister Krassimira Filipova.

Yankoulov was a member of the team of former justice minister Hristo Ivanov who resigned in early December after Parliament refused to support constitutional revisions which Ivanov had proposed and which had to do with the distribution of the members in the Supreme Judicial Council, the body of top administrative authority in the judiciary, elected by Parliament and by the respective professional sector.

Yankoulov first tendered his resignation to leave together with Ivanov but it was not accepted.
