Audit Office Establishes Inconsistencies in Tax Returns of 278 Senior Officials

Sofia, February 22 (BTA) - The National Audit Office (NAO) published the conclusions from the checks of declarations, submitted by persons, holding senior positions, for the period from January 1, 2015 to November 6, 2015, the NAO Press Centre said.

The check has established 228 cases of non-compliance of tax returns and 50 cases of non-compliance of declarations, submitted upon taking or leaving office.

In 2015, NAO inspected 14,159 persons having filed annual tax returns, 710 persons having submitted declamations upon taking office and 558 officials having left office. The spouses and minor children of officials with declarations for taking/leaving office were also checked.

NAO alters the National Revenue Agency and the State Agency for National Security for all cases non-compliance.
