Interior Ministry Does Not Have Information about Communities Where Persons Who Are Threat for Bulgaria's Security Get Together

Brussels/Sofia, March 25 (BTA) - Bulgarian Interior Minister Roumyana Buchvarova said, speaking to Bulgarian reporters in Brussels on Thursday evening, that the Ministry does not have information about the presence in Bulgaria of communities where persons posing a security threat for the country get together. Commenting the protection of the Bulgarian borders, Buchvarova said she "could not imagine a stricter control than the one effected now".

The Interior Ministry also said that the prosecuting magistracy is expected to submit the indictment for the 2012 bombing of a bus at the Bourgas Airport soon. "We are at the final stage of the investigation," she said.

On Thursday in Brussels Buchvarova attended the extraordinary meeting of ministers for justice and security and representatives of the EU institutions called after the terrorist attacks in Brussels on March 22, 2016.

In a speech at the meeting Buchvarova said, quoted by her Ministry, that the recent events in France and in Belgium have shown in a clear and categorical way that the EU needs to reconsider the measures against terrorism. The Bulgarian Interior Minister said that the EU needs a new approach to the fight against terrorism to enable the authorities to act ahead of events and prevent them.
