PES President Stanishev: If Europe Does Not Export Stability,  It Imports Insecurity

Varna, on the Black Sea, March 26 (BTA) - Party of the European Socialists (PES) President Sergei Stanishev said here on Saturday that if Europe does not export stability and a prospect for economic development in the Middle East and Africa, it will import insecurity. Stanishev argued that a much stronger interaction is needed among the security services of the EU member states.

Dwelling on the political situation in Bulgaria, Stanishev said that there is an ostensible stability which hides a status quo of a deal among the political parties.

The PES President said that the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) carries a huge responsibility to its voters and the State. The BSP should show itself as a categorical oppositional formation which has alternative ideas about the development of key sectors in Bulgaria.

Stanishev, who is a former BSP chairman, said that the party should have a leading role in the dialogue among all leftist formations in this country for the upcoming presidential elections.
