Judicial Council's Judges College Adopts Report on Special Courts

Sofia, December 13 (BTA) - The judges college of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) unanimously adopted a report on the performance of the special courts, which says that many cases end in settlement or a light sentence. This creates a sense of impunity, according to the report.

The judges of the Supreme Court of Cassation, who prepared the analysis, said the model of special courts enshrined in legislation is wrong, that is why the Special Criminal Court cannot live up to its mission - to try organized crime groups.
