Caretaker Cabinet Prepares Measures to Reduce Administrative Burden on Business - PM

Sofia, February 24 (BTA) - The caretaker government is preparing measures to reduce the administrative burden on the business, caretaker Prime Minister Ognian Gerdjikov said Friday, opening a forum entitled "Roadmap for Business: 2017".

"We need such discussions and I am convinced that the forum will produce results. Our cabinet has the ambition to do several positive steps for a better business climate," Gerdjikov said.

The PM said that a working group is ready with proposals how to reduce administrative fees. Gerdjkov said that budget revenue from fees increased by 40 per cent over the past few years so that fees "start to look like hidden taxes". The PM gave as an example the Registry Agency which has a budget of 16.2 million leva but reported revenue of 58 million leva last year, "which was given out as bonuses".
