Sofia, March 7 (BTA) - MPs and supporters of the opposition Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), members of the Vuzrazhdane [Revival] party, and representatives of predominantly leftist organizations held a rally on Sofia Wednesday to demand the government's resignation. Several hundred people, some of them arriving by bus from outside Sofia, attended the rally which was held in front of the building of the Council of Ministers.

The protestors demanded halting the sale of the CEZ Bulgaria electricity company, saying that Prime Minister Boyko Borissov was behind the owner of the Bulgarian buyer company. The protestors also took a stand against the Istanbul convention, against corruption and the "plundering of the country" by the power holders.

BSP Chairperson Kornelia Ninova told the rally that the people have come out the street to have their say which is "Resign". Turning to the incumbents, Ninova accused them of "destabilizing the country for a year now, after starting a war on President Rumen Radev, the parliamentary opposition and everyone who is saying that it is high time for the cabinet to quit". She said the resignation is also demanded because the power holders are "stealing the health, education and security of the Bulgarian people and corrupting the Bulgarian EU Presidency".
