Sofia, June 19 (BTA) - Electricity production has dropped by 3.14 per cent between January 1, 2018 and June 17, 2018, compared to the like period of 2017, show the latest data by the Electricity System Operator (ESO).

The data show that a total of 21,144,961 MWh of electricity were produced between January 1 and June 17, 2017, compared to 20,481,250 MWh during the same period of this year.

Electricity consumption between January 1 and June 17, 2018 has dropped by 5.71 percentage points compared to the like period of 2017. ESO's data show that 19,221,778 MWh electricity were consumed in the first six months and 17 days of 2017, compared to 18,124,859 MWh in the corresponding period of 2018.

Bulgaria has exported 2,356,391 MWh of electricity between January 1, 2018 and June 17, 2018, compared to 1,923,183 MWh in the same period of last year, which adds up to a 22.53 per cent increase.
