site.btaBulgarian Regional Development Minister Nankov Confers with Christian Democratic Union Representatives in Stuttgart

Stuttgart, June 22 (BTA) - Bulgarian Regional Development and Public Works Minister Nikolai Nankov Friday conferred with members of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU) in Stuttgart Region, his Ministry said in a press release. The sides discussed the challenges to regional policy, decentralization and local government.

CDU Stuttgart Region Chairman Joachim Pfeiffer said that the region consists of 189 municipalities, it is densely populated and this poses numerous challenges to its infrastructure.

Nankov familiarized his hosts with Bulgaria's territorial administration and with the policies and functions handled by his Ministry. He stressed that municipalities are the principal local-level investors in his country.
