Sofia, June 25 (BTA) - As of Monday, nearly 100 works by Bulgarian artists from the collection of the National Gallery can be viewed online on the Google Arts & Culture platform by people all over the world as a result of a partnership between Google and the National Gallery, said the team involved in the project. The virtual exhibition was presented June 25 at the Digital Assembly in Sofia.

Visitors to Google Arts & Culture can view view works of major Bulgarian 20th century artists and compare their style with the European trends of the time with just a few clicks, as well as to enjoy a large part of the National Gallery's treasures.

The interactive digital exhibition tells the history of Bulgarian modernism - Impressionism, Modernism and the national idea and post-Cezanneism.

Established in 1948, the National Gallery is the largest art museum in Bulgaria with over 41,000 paintings, sculptures, drawings and decorative and contemporary art items. It unites the Square 500 Gallery, the former royal palace, the Museum of Christian Art in the crypt of St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, the Museum of Socialist Art, the Sofia Arsenal Museum of Contemporary Art and the museum-homes of artists Vera Nedkova, Nikola Tanev and Ivan Lazarov.

Google Arts & Culture provides access to the collections of 1,500 museums across the world. The application is free for iOS and Android devices./BR
