site.btaConsulate General in Thessaloniki Helps Two Bulgarian Families Stranded by Cyclone Nefeli

Sofia, June 27 (BTA) - Responding to alerts about two Bulgarian families in distress in Northern Greece due to Cyclone Nefeli, the Bulgarian Consulate General in Thessaloniki promptly contacted the competent Greek authorities, the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry said in a press release on Tuesday.

As a result of the joint action taken, one of the families was evacuated and the other one no longer needs emergency transport because the weather softened. According to the latest information available, both families are on their way back to Bulgaria.

The Consulate General also received eight calls from Bulgarians enquiring about the extreme weather situation, the press release said.
