November 21 (BTA) - National Assembly Chair Tsveta
Karayancheva donated books on Bulgaria's history, customs,
traditions and cultural heritage to the National Diet of Japan,
the Bulgarian Parliament said on Wednesday.

Karayancheva told Sawako Hanyu, Librarian of the National Diet
Library, that she felt honoured to be in the place which is home
to Japan's written heritage and preserves written evidence of
how the foundations of democracy were laid. "I believe that
Bulgaria's and Japan's legislatures will continue to support and
expand the two nations cultural ties," said Karayancheva.

The Bulgarian parliamentary delegation is on an official visit
to Japan at the invitation of Chuichi Date, President of the
House of Councillors. RI/TH
