Sofia, December 19 (BTA) - The Bulgarian Food Safety Agency has confirmed a new outbreak of avian influenza in a private farm in the village of Kosovo, Northwestern Bulgaria.

The tests have been confirmed by the national reference laboratory.

The affected poultry are hens, pheasants and doves.

All relevant measures have been activated.

A visit to the farm established that some of the poultry were missing, after which a search was conducted. The farmer was issued a statement of administrative breach.

The other affected poultry were culled. LY/ZH
