Up by 3.9% on Year
Sofia, January 11 (BTA) - The revenues from nights spent in November 2018 totalled 38.1 million leva, up by 1.9 per cent on a year earlier, the National Statistical Institute said. Revenues from Bulgarians increased by 3.9 per cent, while those from foreigners decreased by 0.7 per cent.
There were 1,844 accommodation establishments with more than 10 bed places functioning in November 2018. Both the number of establishments and of bed places increased by 3.2 per cent in a year.
The total number of nights spent in all accommodation establishments registered in November 2018 was 684,600, 3.7 per cent fewer than a year earlier. The largest decrease, by 10.2 per cent, was observed in one- and two-star accommodation establishments.
In November 2018, 69.1 per cent of all nights spent by foreigners and 37.3 per cent of all nights spent by Bulgarians were reported by four- and five-star hotels.
In November 2018, the total occupancy rate of the bed places in accommodation establishments was 21.4 per cent, down by 1.5 percentage points on a year earlier. The occupancy rate of bed places in four- and five-star accommodation establishments was highest at 27.2 per cent, followed by three-star accommodation establishments with 22.7 per cent, and one- and two-star establishments with 14.6 per cent.
