Healthcare Cooperation Plan


Sofia, January 22 (BTA) - Bulgarian Health Minister Kiril Ananiev and his Macedonian counterpart Venko Filipce on Tuesday signed a cooperation plan, Ananiev's ministry said.

The plan sets out the areas of cooperation between the two ministries for a period of three years, the goals, expected results and measures to achieve them.

The two ministries will cooperate in primary and specialized medical care, disease prevention, AIDS and sexually transmitted disease prevention, environment and health, state medicine policies, infectious and parasitic disease monitoring, healthcare legislation, and medical help in emergency situations.

The plan will promote cooperation between Bulgarian and Macedonian hospitals, research institutes, medical educational establishments as well as specialist exchange and assisting Macedonia with preparations for its EU accession. RY/PP
