Sofia, July 6 (BTA) - A storm with rain and thunder caused numerous floods and disrupted power supply in parts of Sofia on Monday evening. The City Hall said the emergency services received over 65 flooding alerts.

Traffic on a central Sofia boulevard was stopped when Perlovska River spilled over its bed. On normal days, this river is barely bigger than a trickle.

Flood water flowed into the entrances to the underground train service but the trains continued running. LN/
