site.bta240 New Cases of COVID-19 Confirmed in Bulgaria in 24 Hours

July 9 (BTA) - Two record large numbers were reported in Bulgaria in the 24 hours until Wednesday midnight: 240 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed through 4,286 PCR tests, according to data published on the national coronavirus information portal.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases since the beginning of the epidemic to 6,342, including 2,917 active cases. The hospitalized patients are 498, including 29 in intensive care.

Five people died of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, bringing the total deaths to 259.

Also, 129 recoveries were registered in the last 24 hours, bringing the total recoveries to 3,166.

The most numerous new cases were registered in Sofia, 71, and Plovdiv, 21.
