Brussels Recommends Action to Pave the Way to Resumption of
Suspended Funding for
Environment Projects


Sofia, September 1 (BTA) - In a letter to the Bulgarian
Environment Ministry on August 28, the European Commission makes
specific recommendations in respect to the systems for
management and control of EU-funded environmental project for
which funding has been suspended.

The recommendations follow an EC audit mission in Bulgaria in
May 2014.

The Ministry says that its team maintains regular contact with
the EC and a period is coming up of intensive talks on expert
and political level towards an agreement for resuming the
suspended payments for Operational Programme Environment
2007-2013 by October 2014. VI/LN/
