Kozloduy Fund Approves Grants
for Decommissioning
of Nuclear Reactors

Sofia, November 24 (BTA) - The Assembly of Contributors of the
Kozloduy International Decommissioning Support Fund has approved
a grant aid package for 25 million euro worth of projects
relevant to the decommissioning of the older reactors at the
Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant. The approval applies to all
projects proposed by the State Enterprise for Radioactive Waste
(SERAW), the enterprise said on Monday.

The financing agreements for the approved projects will be
signed early in 2015.

The most significant projects involve physical separation of the
infrastructure of the closed reactors and rehabilitation of a
13 km road between Kozloduy and Hurlets.

SERAW has been formally notified by the Nuclear Regulatory
Agency about the completion of the licensing procedure for the
decommissioning of Kozloduy's Reactor Units 1 and 2. Therefore,
the Assembly of Contributors can rest assured that the Bulgarian
side is implementing its commitments in good faith, SERAW said.
